Underground Comedy and Lefty’s Live Music in Des Moines presents DAVE ROSS
Dave Ross is a stand-up comic and a staple of the Los Angeles comedy scene. He recently headlined both the Hollywood Improv and the Nerdist Theater at Meltdown, and continues to cart his weird blend of intense vulnerability, screaming political commentary and dumb butt jokes around the city and the country, to every festival, club, theater, bar, fire hall and bombed-out stone building that will have him. One time, he performed for children.
Some things you might know him from: he is the host of the podcast Terrified on the Nerdist Network, a MOTH Grand Slam winner, a storyteller on KCRW’s UnFictional, and was recently interviewed on WTF with Marc Maron. You might have seen him on Tosh.0 with his sketch group, WOMEN, which was named the #1 Comedy Act to Watch in 2014 by the LA Weekly and is now making sketches for IFC’s Comedy Crib. In 2014, Dave got hammered on Drunk History on Comedy Central, and in a blackout, demanded that everyone in the world be nice to each other. That’s pretty much Dave in a nutshell. He loves you. Angrily.
In October 2014, Dave Ross headlined Des Moines first Beast Village Comedy Festival and recorded his first comedy album live in Denver CO.
Dave Ross’s appearance is sponsored by Underground Comedy, which is committed to the craft of standĀup, to diversity in the voices represented in that craft by fighting racism, sexism, homophobia, and prejudice through acts and advocacy, to building the city’s performing arts scene, and to making people laugh.
