Record Labels
Sump Pump Records
In 1998, Dan Hutchison, Brian Wiksell and Bill Heard started Sump Pump Records as a DIY label & a way to release the debut Why Make Clocks 7″ EP. Now, over a decade later, with new partners, Will Tarbox and Chuck Hoffman, Dan and Brian have decided to start it up again & will be releasing more records in the near future and distributing albums by our friends as well.
Station 1 Records
Station 1 is an experiment in a new kind of record company model – one that emphasizes patronage over profits. We’re not interested in creating “rock stars.” We are interested in building music careers.
Station 1 Records is the non-profit record label of the Des Moines Social Club with the support of Drake University.
