The Von Tramps
The Von Tramps: Irreverent Punk & Cheeky Rock N’ Roll
A B movie actress, a College Professor, A Chef, and An Elderly Care Giver walked into a bar- got drunk and started a band.
The Von Tramps, established Fall of 2015, is an all female punk rock band hailing from the icy streets of Saint Paul, MN. The group’s signature sound of irreverent punk attitude paired with cheeky rock n’ roll lyrics makes this group irresistible. Their eclectic set features great punk rock originals as well as well crafted covers from some of your favorite iconic groups including: No Doubt, The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits and more.
The group is currently working in Wondertone Studios with New York producer Danny Malgerejo. Their debut EP “FAST & LOOSE” is set to release May 2016 with the music video for the single “Peaked in High School” premiering this fall. The group is embarking on a short Midwest tour spring of 2016 which includes: Chicago, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Des Moines and ends with a CD release party in their home state.
On lead vocals for the group is the voluptuous hellcat Jenna Enemy. You may recognize her career with various B horror films. She is best known for her roles in “SOLITUDE” and “THE CONTROL GROUP.” As Molly, Enemy played a Hitchcock style blonde who gets smashed to bits by a terrifying monster designed by celebrity make up artist Darla Eden (SyFy’s FACE OFF winner.) Set in an real-life abandoned insane asylum, Enemy plays “Vanessa,” a central character opposite of academy award nominee and horror’s most notable voice (as the demon doll, “Chucky”); Mr. Brad Dourif. Although heavily involved in the film community, Enemy has always been an avid member of the music scene of both California and Minnesota. In the spring of 2010, she was discovered outside of the Viper Room in LA by legendary radio DJ; Rodney Bingenheimer. Rodney is often revered as the first American DJ to play edgy new music and gained the title “Mayor of the Sunset Strip.” He is credited with discovering the likes of The Sex Pistols, Blondie, No Doubt, Nirvana and more. The day after he met Enemy, her single “Zombie Boyfriend” was on KROQ Los Angeles’ radio waves. After returning to her home state, she wanted a new band. This time, with only female musicians.
First, she found lead guitarist and newcomer Chelsea Oxbourogh who has the tenacity of Joan Jett and the cool factor of Slash. The second to find the group is bass guitarist is Kim Boulden, a New York transplant with loads of experience playing in New York clubs. “She’s the type of girl that can play Flea under the table and she would do it with such humility, like she has no clue how amazing she is.” says producer Danny Malgerejo. The last and final member to join is drummer Rachel Lamberty. Well versed with styles in punk, R+B, and latin; Lamberty is a heavy hitter and a beast of a drummer. She is also a two time competitor of HIT LIKE A GIRL drum competition as well as Guitar Center’s Drum Off.
These are the girls you could take home to mom; until they opened their foul mouths. I give you: THE VON TRAMPS!
